Yeah, I'm tired. I think I looked a little better at mile 1, this is mile 24.

Trying to push it a bit faster to the finish. Don't remember it being that hard last time to tap into the last surge of energy. I think the sun penetrated my skull too much and I was dehydrated big time. All the water they handed out was warm....yuck.

I hope I beat that girl. GOOOOO!

Hurry and save the moment before I puke. I felt so sick afterwards. The temperature was 80 or more when I finished. The last 10 miles were grueling and I wanted to cry when I finally finished. I went home and took my ice bath and shower. Then we went out to lunch because I figured I should eat, but that was a bad idea. I couldn't eat a thing and felt so nauseated for hours. Perhaps this will be my last one. I also saw the Goold clan in the usual spot and said hi to all. Nice to have family around.

We ran and completed our 13.1 miles race in Bryce Canyon on Saturday the 17th. It started at 6 a.m. and tempuratures were perfect. It was a high elevation, but lots of down hill. I got my best time of 2:06

Andrea and Julie from my ward who made me sign up for this race:) They are nice to let me run with them and try to whip me into shape.

They just put the 13 mile marker in and let us climb in the truck for a picture!

We arrived the night before and Got to see the finish line.

The free show at Caesar's Palace was very impressive. I was moved by the patriotic music that accompanied the fireworks. I sure love this country!

This is our sweet set up. Very sunny site, but it was on the cool side so actually ideal. The heater wouldn't work at night without the generator, but we were plenty warm.

Mother in nature, mother nature.

Travis and Leslie found their way to their childhood cabin on the backroads. They enjoyed sharing memories of summers they had here as kids including 2 times their mom almost started a forest fire.

Travis and Angie. We had a pretty sweet camp site up at Duck Creek. No showers, but we took sponge baths and washed our hair with freezing cold water. See how good they look?

4 Wheel'n Fun

Angie was hoping the trip and riding would put her into labor....no luck, but she's super cute!

Leslie enjoys driving anything of course. She actually has good 4 wheel driving skills too.

Travis loves his new graduation toy.

The only way Leslie would go with Travis was if he let her drive. I was surprised he agreed.

I got talked into a ride although I'd rather be in the water than dirt. I am pretty scared of wrecking on the things since we do so much surgery on people who get hurt on them. Leslie is a good driver so I didn't worry. Then I went with travis and we went up to 60 mph! He's lucky he could breathe:)

Things can get interesting after family home evening in my family. It looks like Mike (on bottom) is possibly winning, but Steve (on top) is crushing him and Mike's face was so red I thought it was going to burst.

Sammy and Alysha got to share a pool party for their birthday's since they are pretty close. Sammy six and Alysha turning 9. Those were some yummy cakes.

The parents drove me home. Tami is in the very back with Jackson in front because Tami decided she couldn't stand him anymore. By time we got home he was "that boy!" Super funny. It was an interesting ride, but not bad.

St. George Iron Man

Runners as far as you could see going up and down Diagonal street to complete their 26.2 mile marathon. This is what they did after the 2.4 mile swim and 112 mile bike.

I found Phil Goold (my sister's brother in law) and got to cheer him on. He completed the race in 13hrs 8 minutes which is an amazing time.

Leslie and I volunteered with our ward to hand out bananas and power bars. As you can see, you have to be in top shape to be able to hand these off....took a bit of training.

Another famliar face....Nick, Leslie's boss. He also did amazing completing the course just over 14 hrs. We got to see him about 4 times. It was a great experience.

After getting home from New York, it really is colder here. It snowed all night and now we have this lovely stuff.

Our shocking arrival in this great big city. We were wide eyed as we turned the corner to Time Square. Our first sight after getting off the bus.

It was really a bit overwhelming and exhilerating. The first night we just walked around aimlessly and wowwed out. It gets dark by 4:30 so it seemed to be night most of our trip.

Overall we found people friendly and very helpful when we were looking for the right train, bus or street. Lots of honking though:) Sometimes it felt like being on a movie set. It was a very memorable trip and what a great time of year. The temperature never went below about 36 during the day and it snowed once but didn't stick.

We went to three Broadway musicals, but Wicked was my favorite! LOVED, LOVED it!

We also saw Billy Elliot, and Rock of Ages. Also saw Alter Boyz which was an off broadway show. We also went to two comedy shows. Always something to do.

The grass was suprisingly very green and it looked just like so many movies filmed there.

We kept our eyes open for any celebrities since they all seem to be seen walking their dogs and kids in all the magazines here...no luck. But we did see some guys that looked like they could be paparazzi because they had big nice cameras. But they could have just been tourists like us.

It was a nice stroll and we walked through half of it all the way to Time Squre. With all the walking we did there, I ended up with these cute new boots...warm too:)

We went into Trump Towers for a Bathroom and a snack. Didn't see the Donald

It wasn't as easy as it looked. We crossed this street three times to try and find the right train. Then we realized we had to cross the other way to catch the train we wanted. This is also the corner where we saw a pizza delivery guy on a bike totally biff it. Slippery in the rain.

So cold outside, but so hot inside. Constantly shedding layers and putting them back on as we go in and out.

We were lucky this one was pretty empty.

Coldest I was the whole trip....until evreyone got there and filled in all theempty space with warmth. Oh those NY fans are so full of warmth....they were so happy to sit by two Cowboy fans.

This is a true NY Giants fan....trying to get the crowd into it saying,"if we don't do something right now it's over!!!!" The Giants season was on the line if they lost....but they won and we were sad.

A sweet moment. Riding the lift up to the disc course.

During the off season they make a disc course that starts
at the top of the mountain and after 18 holes of trees and inclines
you end up back down at the bottom. So fun! Took us 3 hrs.

Each person is standing where their disc landed.

The trail was trecherous and muddy at times...

I had to bribe Leslie with anything I could think of to get to the end of the 8 miles that day. We were wearing reef shoes, not such a good choice for this trail. Live and learn:)

Waterfalls

We finally made it to the waterfall...four miles there, and then 4 back, but worth every step. Those of you who know my Kauai miracle story in 1999, this is the waterfall that I was sitting in front of when a flash flood hit while my back was turned while trying to reset my dislocated arm. No rain at all that day and the falls were nice and normal size.

These are those same falls, with me swimming under them, so you can imagine how tall they really are. The water was hitting quite hard, so exhilerating! That was one of my highlights of the whole trip :)

This is another fall we canoed and hiked to, that's what gave me the courage to do the other larger one....we did this first....super fun. After we did, a bunch of people got the nerve up and followed us. We are such trend setters!

This coast is in many movies such as King Kong and all these points are spectacular...the guide said it was like the 12th wonder of the world. This is the 11 mile beach with water fall. I hiked this back in 1999 and it was the best hike of my life...gorgeous!

Nap Time

It's Thanksgiving day at 4 PM. You know what that means? One hour past Tami's nap and she's showing her full and grumpy face simultaneously. She made sure everyone knew she doesn't eat turkey, but she did eat Dad's BBQ chicken.
This was more of a pose. I asked for her sleepy face and she started to crack a smile.

Fish Hatchery Traditions

Every Thanksgiving we go feed the fish at the hatchery. A tradition started by Dad to get us out of the house so my mom could cook without eight kids in her hair. We still go and I still love to see the fish jump for the food.

Game Excitement

It was exciting just to be in the parking lot, we weren't sure when to go in because we didn't want to miss out on being with all the fans.
We saw some serious tail gaters and it smelled so good. These were the best ones we saw and Leslie wished she could join them. It was so amaizng the dedication of some fans.
It was so fun to watch everyone in warm ups. This is Tony Romo (before he broke his pinki in OT. What a disappointing loss.
More warm ups. Leslie got in a fight with the Cardinals kicker while he was practicing. He missed the goal and wanted his ball back. She told him, "if you could kick right you wouldn't need to get your ball back" and she told him to come and get it himself. He cursed at her, but I won't write that:)

Hoover Dam

We stopped at The Hoover Dam on the way home from Phoenix. You can't tell from the picture, but the Dam is so huge and tall. It is something to see if you've never been there.

Jonah is a cheezer

Tami really knows how to get on the kids level and play. Max sure likes to hang out with her.

These three (Sammy Jonah and Ali) play really well together and love their picture taken. This is in Jill's backyard. I got to watch a few of the kids while everyone went in all directions.
